Canning Stage 1






In my to do list for this Summer was canning. I rolled my sleeves up got busy with my kids! I thought I have successfully finished canning but I ended up with canning a sweet blueberry syrup. Yes, it did not work for me. I was heart broken but I learned a lesson. It is super necessary to measure all your ingredients for canning. I was relying on my kids for measuring and I decided to do double the batches. I don’t think it was a great idea. 

We will be canning again this summer for one last time but we are not going to double the batches next time and we will do a better job in measuring. We are happy to use our blueberry syrup with pancakes it was yummy.

  1. Oh yum - I love blueberry syrup with pancakes! I made some one weekend and we ended up ladeling it over pancakes, ice cream, yogurt! So many uses for blueberry syrup :)

  5. I am just learning how to can and this is a great idea! Though this year I will probably just be doing banana pepper rings and I still need to figure out what I am going to make with my all my tomatoes!

  6. You can canned them whole for sauces... I would like to make some sauces before processing them this year. I would love to use the sauces on pasta during winter.
