Wanted to go to my knitting Group…

Thanks for stopping by to take a peek in my little blog… to see what’s going on with my life...I was at home all day today with kids doing house work, cleaning, cooking, ironing, knitting, and what not in between… Yes, I wanted to go to my knitting group being confused since we meet at the local book shop as well as the public library I gave a call to Cynthia and found out it was at the Library… since Kathy is coming I wanted to take Nicolette’s baby clothes, return library books and  take the collection of hand me down knitting needles I bought from the craft lady for a buck while carrying all these in my hand. The nice gentleman from across the hallway was holding the door and thank him and hurried downstairs and got them situated in front the right hand side passenger seat…

Yes while I was driving my sons scout master called and we arranged a date for my son to meet up next week to go through his book requirements… said and done with that I am heading towards the intersection to take 140 S to take School street to go to the Library… while waiting to the incoming traffic the person behind me hit my truck.

Yes, this has happened to me before in NJ and my daughter was in the car and she was tiny and the other car hit me from my side. I was driving and from the driver’s side… I was shocked and bit frazzle… I was heading to pick my son from school at that time. This is my last collision memory… or experience I remember…

Today it was hard it was a big thundering sound and I was jerked but thank God I was buckled and no KIDS in the car… I was much disoriented today, crying, panic, angry, in other word I was an emotional wreck… Somehow I pulled myself and found out I have left my purse at home while attempting to carry all the other things. I called my husband he came in talk to the police officer who was very friendly and helpful when I explain to him that I don’t have my driver’s license at the moment. I explained to him that my husband was on his way with my purse… he told me that’s fine…

I felt bad for the other person… his car was new and an expensive car not only that he was going home after work… I wanted to apologize to him saying I am sorry for what happen at least I was able to explain to him neither of us didn’t had any injuries… I hope everything goes well with him being able to get to work… and all…

Other extraordinary thing was my husband was involved in an accident week before… on a rainy day and he hit the other car from behind… so both our cars are involved in accidents on the same month… to top it off I lost my wallet too… I am in the process of getting all my cards and cancelling my credit cards…
What a month… I can’t wait to see what’s going to happen next…

Foxgloves…

Foxglove scientifically named as Digitalis is beautiful plant that I love very much… I initially saw this plant at t farmers market in VA. I bought it and planted it in our garden in VA. Yes, It bloomed that summer not only that it did germinated by itself the seed pod cracked and little plants were discovered the following spring and it did what it needs to do every summer  as I can recall for three consecutive summers. There were no intervals it bloomed in that corner of my garden and did the summer dance. I did add some miracle grow once in a while to keep it going. The blooms were very rich deep purple. I personally like purple flowers a lot.
My story was I saw this plant growing almost like a weed in northern part of England when we were travelling this summer. I was amazed by this. There were some white foxgloves here and there along the side of the paths; but it amazes me to see them by the side of the road just growing without much care. Later I found out after talking to some locals it is a very natural plant in Eastern England.
Not only that; I know this is a poisonous plant too. But the beauty is that just like the plant itself it has some great medicinal value to it and it has discovered by an English scientists. Especially for cardio vascular issues… The reason I wanted to blog on this was it was interesting to see this plant with a price tag in a nursery here while it grows like a weed in another country…. That was amazing.

Our Crop…

Yes, this is our first crop for this season on our tiny balcony with a minimum of 3 hours of sunlight. We did a lot watering and love for our tomato plants and jalapeño pepper. My son and daughter was delighted to pick the crop off the plants. I did use them on my cooking. We also had some strawberries as well this summer when ever we sat outside we would enjoy them right out of the plant…

The patio tomato was great it had a very think trunk that supported the leaves and crop… I was wondering how well it would do on the ground love to see it… however I did have to tie it to the railing of the deck one point after a storm… but it did survived…

I would love to do some bulbs this FALL to see how is it going to work… Thanks for stopping by to check my blog…

a scarf & mittens for a little one

I knitted two gloves for my daughter with a scarf for this winter. I bought the yarn from the local yarn shop for a buck since it was only 1 ball I wanted to make a scarf. This yarn is a novelty yarn and I loved shades or I must say the color combination was great… I love purple or any hues of lavender. Scarf was pretty simple garter stitch… can make with your eyes closed. I was looking for a glove pattern but then I found it from one of the books I had at home and Kathy from the knitting club was generous to offer me a book with more patterns. She helped me with this glove project to do the joining it was great to have help when planning on new projects… My knitting group rocks...

I had some left over white yarn from another project and solid purple from another project so I put them together to make this pair of gloves for my daughter. This coming winter to keep her hands warm. It is quite unusual than the normal gloves from the cuffs since I used two colors but that’s fine for now. We don’t have to buy mittens this winter I can make them at home. Well that’s the bright side of making gloves at home but I am nervous about this because my older one can lose his gloves and mittens in a split second…. Yes that is scary… Imagine the amount of mittens I have to knit this coming winter ha… ha…

I love these gloves and the scarf that I knitted for my daughter it is definitely labor of love. I can’t wait to make some more now that I have a set in purple. I have to make another set in pink since her winter jacket is pink… (Just another excuse to knit) Yes, we already bought her 2010 winter jacket on clearance that was a GREAT buy. I think I have some pink yarn I can put to use very soon.

Thanks for stopping by and taking a peek in my little blog to see what’s going…

Our small crop…

When we got back from our vacation I was disappointed to see the tomato plants and the herbs were heavily struck by the heat stroke… petunias were all withered to the heat. However I cut them back and plucked all the dead flowers waiting to miracle to happen. Now that so much into summer I don’t think I want to plant anything in that basket. Probably this FALL…Our two tomato plants, Strawberry and the jalapeño pepper seems to survived the heat stroke with some herbs certainly the rosemary did survived with some heavy watering upon our arrival… Here are some pictures of our small crop that thrives with some sun and mostly in shade… I will soon making some salads with tomato, basil, and mozzarella cheese… with some bread that can go a long way…

Hesitant Baking…

It is 82 F outside temperate didn’t want to bake any or cook, I got home from my daily walking not many people are walking today. I guess people are getting ready for the holidays. I didn’t want to blog today but I wanted to do after cranking the oven to make the pizza. It was so good.

I made two pizzas’ today one with artichoke, spinach & anchovy’s another with sautéed onions, and sasuge. After receiving raving for my pizza I thought I should blog about this. What I did different was add some olive oil with Tuscan seasoning for the dough it did some kick offs.

Over roll it was very tasty even the outside high temps… we had some homemade lemonade to cool off the heat. Once again this is the basic pizza dough with simple changes but makes a big statement.

Patriotic Hat…

Yes, after much thought I decided to make a patriotic hat to sell on ETSY.com. I came up with the design and the colors. I wanted to do more but in a time crunch aren’t’ we all sometimes. Hopefully I can get this all laid out next year with my friends, at the knitting group. I love the polka dots and my crochet skills are improving well too.

I REALLY like how it turned out. I wish I knew this skill when my kids were tiny. I would have taken a ton of pictures of our kids. So whenever my friends, relatives, or anyone I know is having a baby; I go crazy creating these lovely gifts. This hat is ideal for a July photo shoot. My son was born two days after the Independence Day. I remember to this date I was at the fireworks watching the works while my son was having a ball, kicking inside me. But it was a different story with my daughter I saw the fireworks at the nation’s Capital, Washington DC with family but waited for couple of months for the delivery because she was a winter baby. No wonder I started knitting for her ha… ha...

I am very excited to go on vacation with my family this coming Monday. I might not blog for couple of days… I will post the pictures upon our arrival. From all of us my son is very excited about this trip because this is his B’day gift. We have not yet packed our bags we will eventually. We do enjoy the summer with long walks, cycling, and reading of course.

I want to blog on this hat I am planning to introduce a Christmas hat collection and hopefully sell them through ETSY.com. This is my initial hat for that collection. I love the colors and the holiday. As I progress through this collection I will blog more. At present I enjoy these hats a lot. Can’t wait to knit and present them together as a collection.

Here is the FUN part of this hat. Making the pompoms I love creating these… I am eyeing the big pompom maker one of these days I am going to buy that one because I think it is SUPER cool. I didn’t want to add a huge amount of red just a little bit next time I may add few strands… and see how it’s going to look like… I love this hat a lot…

I have been exercising lately a lot and walking with my kids. I need get my little one to move around she is not into walking much may be hit the playground after walk so I can cool down while they run around.

Boat Neck – Purple Sweater…

I was working on this sweater for a long time and finally was able to finish it. I am not so happy with seaming but it’s ok. I hope this will still fit my little one this coming FALL. I love the simplicity of this sweater. Easy to put on and take off. I wish I had more patience to do a tidy job with seaming. That’s something I need to improve.
